In addition a wide range of esoteric items (herbs, spells, moon water) I have also started creating artwork using cyanotype printing.

Cyanotype printing is a camera-less photographic process that uses UV light (sunlight). Developed in the 1840s, it inspired the very first photographically illustrated book to create stunning monochromatic, Prussian-blue prints. I then apply my own embellishments to create these:

Each print is unique and a one-off, reflecting nature’s beauty and uniqueness, and can now be found in-store at in Worcester.

Book 7 , “42 for 42” is a collection of 42 flash fiction and short stories I’ve performed for 42Worcester, the country’s eminent gothic and horror spoken word event in the heart of Worcester. Both books are available via the links on the Poetry & other collections section of my website.

Script Haven Bookshop was created in August 2023 following a conversation with friends. We identified a need for indie authors and publishers to have a physical home on high streets, and a place where creatives could gather to hold spoken word events and support community causes. The bookshop has grown to be a beating heart of the city, and taken up time and brain space, hence the lack of posting on here. Challenges running a high street business have been immense, so in April 2026 we’re relocating to another beautiful building in Worcester. Check their website to find out more.

The significant pathway? For many years I’ve felt drawn to Druidry, a pathway of living spiritually and harmoniously with nature and all her elemental energies, joining OBOD in 2024. As a result, I’ve changed the Travelogues section on my website to Enchanted Landscapes to better reflect the magic and beauty I find in my travels, and am working on something very special, to be revealed later this year! (future landscape posts will appear here on substack)

So yes, I’m back (never really left, just withdrew to a quiet space!)......join me for a cuppa and a natter as we travel this weird way called life.

Lunacy /ˈluːnəsi/ - mid 16th century (affected with periodic insanity dependent on the changes of the moon)

Mask /mɑːsk/ - from medieval Latin masca ‘witch, spectre’, ‘nightmare’,’ ghost’)


Context: Commissioners in Lunacy was an actual government department, responsible for the management of asylums which have existed in Britain since the 13th century. Originally established in every county to provide care and treatment for the poor, they soon became centres of mockery and despair.

At the time of his arrest for vagrancy in 1938, his new guitar, a Gibson Kalamazoo KG-14, had been lost that morning – it has never been found. This flash fiction is based on that legend
